How to Install Mirrors

When you are ready to install your new custom cut mirror, keep these steps in mind to make sure that you are hanging the mirror safely and correctly.

Take Measurement

Take a thorough measurement of both the mirror and the space on the wall where you want to hang it. It’s important to know that there is enough space on the wall for the mirror to fit securely.

Check for Studs

If you can hang the mirror on the wall studs, that is the best-case scenario. Otherwise, you will need to use drywall anchors.

Make a Mark

Yes now you have to make a mark on the wall where you will be drilling your screws. For heavier mirrors, you will need multiple screws. Ensure, if using multiple screws, that you use a level so that they are even on the wall.

Drill the Screws

If your marks are in studs, use a drill to drill screws into the marks on the wall. If your marks are not on studs, hammer in drywall anchors into the marks and then add the screws into the anchors.

Hang the Mirror

Carefully lift the mirror and place the hanging wire over the screws. Lower it without letting go until the wire catches securely on the screws. This may take a few tries to get it right.

Level it

As a final step, use your level to make sure the mirror is straight. Make minor adjustments as necessary.
